Whether it’s sports or the Silver Screen, Ronnie Faison is looking to make you smile.
“I have a lot of humor,” said Faison, “and just love being able to entertain people.”
Named a Senior of Distinction as part of the Tri-Cities High School 2020 graduating class according to the Sun Herald, Faison was awarded over $200,000 in scholarships from Mercer University, including the REACH Georgia Scholarship program.
Faison was a five-sport star at Tri-Cities High School in East Point and helped lead them to their first-ever boys basketball state title, according to 41 WMGT.
“Playing basketball and winning a state championship really influenced me to want to do greater things and be great in what I do in life,” said Faison, who also played football and earned the team’s highest GPA award. “Sports just always provided me with the joy and passion to do other things.”
Other things like the opportunity to introduce Dr. Kenneth Zeff, the Executive Director of Learn4Life, a non-profit organization in Metro Atlanta with the mission to support public schools and common education goals across the region.
Faison’s goals are to graduate from Mercer with a degree in Media Studies and eventually create content in the entertainment industry. Applying his attitude towards college should serve Faison well.
“Planning your schedule and time management is very important,” Faison said. “College is when you find the real you, (so) definitely come prepared and ready to work.”
