Application, Repayment Procedure and Forms
The Georgia Peace Officers Loan Repayment Application Agreement is a one-time application.
The Employer and Lender Verification forms must be submitted each year (annually).
Before applying, the applicant must have a GAfutures student account with SSN for secure identification. (GAfutures accounts are secure and are not shared).
- One Georgia Peace Officers Loan Repayment Application Agreement is required for program approval.
- The Application Agreement is valid for five years.
- Applications are processed first come, first served, and are based on available funds.
- Applicants are responsible for retrieving completed forms from all necessary parties to present a complete application submission for Georgia Student Finance Authority (GSFA) to review.
- GSFA will communicate with you by the email submitted on the application agreement after completing a review of the application agreement and required forms/documents.
Loan Repayment Procedure
- The Employer Verification Form is required annually to certify employment.
- Must be submitted at the time of completing 12 consecutive months of qualifying employment.
- Twelve (12) months of Qualified Employment on or after January 1, 2024
- The Lender Verification Form is required annually to certify qualifying loan.
- Must be submitted at the time of completing 12 consecutive months of qualifying employment.
- Group 1: Newly Employed Peace Officers in Georgia with a Bachelor’s Degree are required to submit a copy of their college transcript or college diploma to verify the date the bachelor’s degree was earned.
- Group 2: Peace Officers enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree in a field of Criminal Justice, GSFA will contact the eligible college/university when the annual Employer Verification form is received by GSFA, to verify enrollment status and field of study.
- Loan payments are sent directly to the lender of the eligible student loan.
- Applicants are notified by email of payment(s) made to the lender of the eligible student loan.

Submitting Forms
Submit completed Verification Forms via your GAfutures student account:
- Save your document(s) as one electronic file.
- Sign in to your GAfutures account
- Select Document Upload, located on the left-hand side of the page.
- Select the appropriate Document Type.
- Attach your document file and select the submit button (Acceptable file types: pdf, jpg, jpeg, png, bmp, tif, tiff).
GSFA will communicate with you by the email submitted on the application agreement after completing a review of the required forms/documents.
