Award Amount
The High School Equivalency Examination Grant award amount is applied toward the cost of a state approved High School Equivalency Examination fee(s), up to a lifetime limit of $200. Funds are not paid directly to the applicant. The award to assist with the cost of the examination is provided to TCSG for the applicant.
Award Limits
Once the High School Equivalency diploma is earned, the student is no longer eligible to receive HSE Grant funds.
A person is ineligible for the High School Equivalency Examination Grant if the student has:
- Earned a high school diploma or equivalent or completed a home study program prior to seating for a state approved High School Equivalency Examination;
- Earned a college degree, including from a foreign institution prior to seating for the High School Equivalency Examination;
- Received HOPE or Zell Miller Scholarship payment prior to seating for the High School Equivalency Examination.
