GSFC Introduces new Outreach Representatives
Outreach representatives provide residents across the state with key information to make college cost-effective and affordable. Gabrielle Poss and Anna Roberts recently joined GSFC to continue assisting students of all ages with valuable knowledge.
First and foremost, my favorite part of this job,” said Poss, “is sharing the good news about postsecondary opportunities in Georgia.”
Roberts, a native of Cario, isn’t too far removed from learning about those opportunities as a student. Now she is the one at the head of the class, informing others about the same programs she took advantage of.
“Being on the other side of programs that I previously used is so rewarding,” said Roberts. “I know how impactful these programs were for my postsecondary career.
“I’m extremely passionate about helping students learn their options and what these programs can really do for them.”
Helping students is Poss’s background, working over 20 years as a middle and high school English teacher. She’s assisted students with college entrance applications, scholarship essays and finding the details they need on GAfutures.org.
“Watching people light up and become excited about their future has always been my favorite aspect of being in the education field,” said Poss. “It is because of those experiences; I jump at the opportunity to attend and share with the people in my area.”
Poss serves 26 counties in the Southeastern parts of Georgia. Roberts services 10 counties in the Northwestern region of the state and is passionate about helping students learn what programs like GEORGIA MATCH can do for them.
“Most received their letters and were surprised at the amount of institutions the State of Georgia has that they never knew about,” said Roberts. “Students are definitely reacting positively to GEORGIA MATCH.”

TCSG Launches Platform Linking Job Seekers with Local Employers
The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) has launched an online Labor Exchange Platform, directly connecting job seekers and employers across Georgia.
“As Georgia celebrates its tenth consecutive year as the nation's top state for business, this online platform plays a crucial role in aligning our workforce development efforts with the pace of our economic growth,” said TCSG Commissioner Greg Dozier. “The Labor Exchange Platform is more than just a job site; it's a bridge connecting Georgia’s talented workforce with the numerous opportunities arising in the state.”
The Labor Exchange Platform is a component of WorkSource Georgia, which serves as the state's employment and training system designed to bridge the gap between skilled individuals and job opportunities. WorkSource Georgia is administered by TCSG's Office of Workforce Development.
“The Labor Exchange Platform is a testament to TCSG’s commitment to fostering a skilled workforce in Georgia,” said TCSG Deputy Commissioner of Workforce Development, Karen Kirchler. “By seamlessly connecting job seekers with employers, we are not just filling job vacancies but are building a robust, skilled community ready to drive Georgia’s economic growth.”
There are TCSG-Eligible programs where free tuition is available at any TCSG school for careers in need of skilled workers. Click here for more information about these well-paying opportunities.
